DEI Corporate Studies at Maxion İnci Wheel Group

"DEI stands as a foundational element of our corporate culture"

In today’s business environment, the paramount social commitment for any business, irrespective of its industry, is the improvement of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Once relegated to a subordinate role within human resources, DEI has now ascended to a position of strategic importance, becoming a fundamental pillar of successful business operations. Today, companies are increasingly channelling significant investments into DEI initiatives, recognizing its essential role not just as a moral imperative but as a driver of business success. Organizations are seamlessly integrating DEI programs into their overarching strategies and translating these ideals into actionable practices.

At Maxion İnci Wheel Group, we embrace a ‘human-first’ philosophy, where diversity and inclusion stand as foundational elements of our corporate culture. We are committed to continually refining our human resources processes to align with this philosophy, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of today's workforce.

We firmly believe that fostering diversity and inclusion cultivates a rich tapestry of perspectives that not only enhances our organizational success but also nurtures a thriving work environment. Our dedication to these principles begins at the top, with our management team, and permeates throughout every level of our organization. Our objective is to establish a workplace where every employee can fully realize their potential and experience fulfilment, irrespective of their cultural background, prior experiences, or skill sets.

Moreover, we endeavour to extend these values beyond our organization, advocating for their adoption among our suppliers. We incorporate our ‘Code of Conduct’ into all supplier agreements, covering crucial areas such as anti-bribery and anti-corruption, human rights, labour standards, occupational health and safety, and environmental stewardship. In this context, we explicitly prohibit our suppliers from engaging in any form of discrimination based on religion, language, race, or gender, as well as any instances of verbal, physical, or sexual abuse and the use of forced or child labour. Furthermore, all suppliers are required to commit to upholding the Maxion Wheels Code of Conduct, ensuring that our standards are reflected throughout our entire supply chain.

Women Empowerment

Embracing our ‘Unique and United’ philosophy, we are dedicated to championing women’s empowerment and enhancing their presence within business life. We recognize women's participation in the economy as an invaluable asset and a vital catalyst for social welfare, sustainable development, and economic advancement. To this end, we have ensured that female employees can thrive as operators in heavy industry, engage in shift work, and succeed in more traditional work environments.

Within our organization, we have established a Women’s Communication Platform designed to foster dialogue and support among female employees. We firmly oppose any forms of discriminatory language in our communications and actively engage in training and awareness initiatives to promote gender equality.

We are proud to be the first and only company in the automotive manufacturing and supply sector to receive the Equality for Women at Work Certificate. We implement and uphold practices that enhance women’s participation in the workplace and enrich their lives, including breastfeeding rooms, a Mom Buddy program, the Avita employee support hotline, newborn services, and generous maternity leave. Additionally, we organize specialized training programs to nurture and develop women leaders.

Socially Responsible

Since 2011, we have formed a Türkiye Operations Volunteer Team called ‘Gönülden İşler.’ This initiative allows every member of our Group to engage as a volunteer and actively participate in community projects that create a positive societal impact. One of our key contributions is collecting plastic caps of all colours and sizes to support the Turkish Spinal Cord Paralytics Association (TOFD) in meeting the demand for wheelchairs.

Our commitment to education and community development is exemplified by our Student Development and Support Project, initiated in 2016 in collaboration with Manisa Private MOSB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We provide scholarships to students and a range of personal development training to prepare them for social life.

We prioritize awareness-raising activities. For significant events such as World Stuttering Awareness Day, the International Week of the Deaf, and Human Rights Day, we share videos in Turkish and English with our volunteer employees.

Additionally, we address the climate crisis through ‘Plogging’ initiatives, where participants collect trash as exercise. This effort underscores the importance of environmental stewardship, particularly concerning forest fires.

In alignment with IMPACT2030's Employees for the Global Goals program, we provided awareness training in 15 primary and secondary state schools in Türkiye. This initiative helps children aged 8 to 14 learn about and internalize the Sustainable Development Goals. We also support NGOs like LÖSEV and KAÇUV, which focus on assisting children battling leukaemia and actively participate in book donation campaigns.

Notably, Maxion İnci Wheel Group is the first company from Türkiye to join the Employees for the Global Goals program, developed by IMPACT2030 in collaboration with the World’s Largest Lesson initiative. Through this program, our volunteer employees raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals and motivate young individuals to take action toward these 17 goals.

We are committed to equality and non-discrimination in recruitment, promotions, wage management, benefits provision, and termination processes, regardless of gender or job classification. We adhere to the principles of ‘Equal treatment in wage management and benefits’ and ‘Providing equal opportunities in employment and career advancement.’

To enhance inclusivity, we collaborate with the  Government Employment Agency to organize recruitment days aimed at increasing the employment of women and individuals with disabilities in field positions. Over the past eight years, we have successfully employed 110 individuals with disabilities.
